Honesty is Tough…

Are we all liars?!

It’s the first day of my 30-day writing challenge, and it hasn’t gone well today… I was travelling to Birmingham (from London) to visit family and decided (since I don’t have a job!) to catch a coach. Which is almost two hours longer than the train! But it is almost a 5th of the price. The seat was how crammed I couldn’t pull out my laptop, so it became the most unproductive 3.5 hours ever!

But… enough of that.

While I was sitting on the coach I got thinking. I started to think about what the hardest thing about writing is, and I think… it’s being honest.

Actually, it is being authentic… let me explain…

Now, when I say the hardest thing is to be authentic, I don’t mean that we all tell lies or compulsive fakers. It’s more like, meeting a person for the first time. You know that you are being extra courteous, polite, and holding back… what we think would be potentially harmful information to the first impression.

And that is hard to shake.

I am hoping that through this challenge I can relax and begin to talk about all of my interests and truly let me passions out to create articles that people can enjoy and resonate with.

Just getting a comment would do at this point! I have my work cut out for me, but I am hopeful.

I know this is a short post, but I wanted to get something out, in keeping with the challenge I have set myself. I am hoping tomorrow I can get some steer on the kind of topic that I would like to write about.

Until tomorrow!
